第二學(xué)期下半學(xué)期的同學(xué)應(yīng)該接觸到一般過去時了。說到英語的一般過去時，我們中國的學(xué)生、特別是小學(xué)生，對它可能不是很熟悉，因為在漢語里面，沒有動詞的時態(tài)變化。那么在什么樣的情況下，我們要用到一般過去時呢?一般過去時主要表示過去某時發(fā)生的動作或情況(包括習(xí)慣性動作)，一般過去時由動詞的過去式表示。也就是說在講到以前發(fā)生或做過的事，動詞就要用一般過去式。

英語動詞過去式的構(gòu)成有好幾種，今天先談?wù)刡e動詞。

1.Be動詞的過去式

例句

I was a little boy two years ago.(一般過去時)

兩年前我還是個小男孩。

I am a little boy. (一般現(xiàn)在時)

我是一個小男孩。

You were in Shanghai last year.(一般過去時)

你去年在上海。

You are in Shanghai. (一般現(xiàn)在時)

你在上海。

My grandma was young then.(一般過去時)

我奶奶那時還年輕。

My grandma is young. (一般現(xiàn)在時)

我奶奶很年輕。

Our school was small then.(一般過去時)

那時，我們的學(xué)校很小。

Our school is small. (一般現(xiàn)在時)我們學(xué)校很小。

He and I were in the same class in Grade One.(一般過去時)

我和他一年級在同一個班里。

He and I are in the same class. (一般現(xiàn)在時)

我和他在同一個班級。

It was sunny yesterday.(一般過去時)

昨天是晴天。

It is sunny (today). (一般現(xiàn)在時)

今天是晴天。

They were at home yesterday.(一般過去時)

他們昨天在家。

They are at home. (一般現(xiàn)在時)

他們在家。

It was Mary’s birthday yesterday. She was very happy.(一般過去時)

昨天是Mary的生日。她很高興。

It is Mary’s birthday (today). She is happy. (一般現(xiàn)在時)

今天是Mary的生日，她很高興。

2.Be動詞過去式的否定形式

例句

I was not (wasn’t) a little boy two years ago.

兩年前我還不是個小男孩。

You were not (weren’t) in Shanghai last year.

你去年不在上海。

My grandma was not (wasn’t) young then.

我奶奶那時不年輕。

Our school was not (wasn’t) small then.

那時，我們的學(xué)校不小。

He and I were not (weren’t) in the same class in Grade One.

我和他一年級不在同一個班里。

It was not (wasn’t ) sunny yesterday.

昨天不是晴天。

It was not (wasn’t) Mary’s birthday yesterday. She was not (wasn’t) very happy.
